The Century Foundation’s website had grown organically over time—resulting in inconsistent UX patterns and missed opportunities for engagement. I led a phased optimization initiative to improve usability, strengthen brand cohesion, and build a more scalable foundation without requiring a full redesign.

Before redesigning anything, I centralized scattered website knowledge into a shared source of truth. I documented the site architecture, existing UI patterns, and technical constraints while aligning leadership, internal teams, and developers around key priorities.

At the same time, I established and extended foundational brand guidelines and a documented UI toolkit to create greater consistency across teams and streamline future decision-making.

To identify the most impactful opportunities, I conducted an heuristic analysis of the existing experience to evaluate usability, accessibility, content structure, and brand consistency across the site.

With 80+ optimization opportunities identified, I led a prioritization process balancing user impact, effort, and technical feasibility. This work was organized into two parallel tracks to be completed: an internal stream focused on brand consistency, visual and content updates, and a development stream addressing accessibility, responsive fixes, and expanded CMS capabilities.
To support execution, I translated priorities into a shared roadmap—combining a Google Sheet tracker with annotated Figma designs—to reduce ambiguity and enable smoother cross-functional handoff.

The result was a more cohesive, credible, and user-friendly experience. The new site offers improved discoverability, demonstrates strengthened internal alignment, and can be easily scaled for future growth.
